Etude in C sharp minor

Etude in C sharp minor
The fourth Etude, in C sharp minor, is linked to its predecessor, with which it forms an integral whole. It is filled with the irresistible force and momentum of a suddenly stirred energy that surges forwards across a wilderness of endless modulations. The semiquaver motion describing the notes of the melody and derived from Bachian motorism, unceasing and regular, and cast from hand to hand, attains its goal via a coda played fortissimo and, as Chopin specifies, con più fuoco possibile (as fierily as possible)Author: Mieczysław TomaszewskiA series of programmes entitled ‘Fryderyk Chopin's Complete Works’Polish Radio 2
