The inaugural conference of the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition will be held at the Royal Castle today at 5.00 p.m.

Great stories are written with micro-stories. The hundred years of the International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition are not only about the fortunes of its 20 past winners, or even the hundreds of participants – they are also, and above all, about the millions of memories and emotions of the audience.

In what order will the participants perform during the Competition?

During the Competition, participants will perform in alphabetical order according to the first letter of their surname. The letter with which the 1st stage begins will be decided by a draw. This year, the letter will be drawn during the conference inaugurating the Competition on September 30 at 5 p.m. (this exciting moment will be broadcast online on the YouTube channel of the Fryderyk Chopin Institute).

General schedule of the 19th Chopin Competition

The 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition will commence on 2 October. Here is a summary of the schedule for the upcoming auditions and concerts.

Chopin’s music will be played at Łazienkowska Street

Legia Warsaw, together with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, invite you to an event which, for the first time, a few days before the inauguration of the 19th Chopin Competition, will combine two symbols of the capital city – the excitement of football from the stadium at Łazienkowska Street and the musical heritage of Fryderyk Chopin.

Admission tickets, audition times – what you need to know before the 19th Chopin Competition

During stages I, II, and III of the auditions, participants are auditioned  daily in two sessions, morning (from 10 a.m. to approximately 2 p.m.) and  afternoon (from 5 p.m. to approximately 9 p.m.). The finals  begin at 6 p.m.

Chopin’s desserts

For the 19th Chopin Competition, fourteen Warsaw restaurants associated with the Warsaw Tourist Organization have created original desserts inspired by the figure, work, and era of the outstanding composer.

Ticket sales for the Opening Concert and the 1st Winners Concert of the 19th Chopin Competition

Ticket Sales for the Inaugural Concert (2 October 2025) and the First Prize-Winners’ Concert (21 October 2025) of the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition will begin on 9 September 2025 at 10:00 a.m.   Tickets will be available online at ebilet.pl, as well as in person at the ticket desks of the Fryderyk Chopin Museum, located at Tamka 43 Street, Warsaw.

The inauguration of the Competition is a special event – solemn and ceremonial, filled with a whole range of emotions heralding this unique and noble competition, which will captivate the entire music world for the next three weeks.
