The seventh Etude, in C major, the same key as the first, but of a completely different character, brings joyous, carefree animation, expressed through a toccata-like texture. The mild, luminous sonorities result from the kind of two-note chords used here: mainly thirds, seconds and sixths. The moments of delicate, subtle sonorities bring to mind the acoustic aura of the Etudes of Maria Szymanowska.Author: Mieczysław TomaszewskiA series of programmes entitled ‘Fryderyk Chopin's Complete Works’Polish Radio 2
