Meeting and masterclass in Madrid

The 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition was presented on 16 November at the Royal Conservatory in Madrid. The participants had the opportunity to watch a film about the rich history of the nearly 100-year-old Competition, which continues to attract the attention of music lovers all over the world. Director Szklener presented the highlights of next year's edition of the Chopin Competition, its history and calendar, and Martin Garcia Garcia talked about his experience of participating in the Chopin Competition in 2021.
The presentation of the 19th Chopin Competition was followed by a masterclass delivered by Martin Garcia Garcia for the students of the Madrid Conservatory.

    Behind the scenes notes. 2nd day

    First from among the 84 participants of the 19th Fryderyk Chopin Competition presented themselves to the jury on Friday, at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw, that filled with audience. Among them were pianists from China, Japan, the U.S.A., Canada and Poland.

    At the conference inaugurating the 19th Chopin Competition, jury chairman Garrick Ohlsson – winner of the 8th edition of the Competition in 1970 – spoke about the difficult tasks of the jurors, the method of judging the participants, and Chopin’s music.
