Polish participants in the Chopin Competition at the ‘Chopin and his Europe’ Festival 2025

18/08/2025

Traditionally, in frames of the Festival taking place in the year of the Chopin Competition, a series of recitals – Chopin recitals, of course! – of Polish participants in the upcoming edition of the event is planned, realised in cooperation with the Mazovian Institute of Culture.

Outstanding young pianists will perform at the Holy Cross Basilica, where the heart of Fryderyk Chopin rests. In the church, located just round the corner from the Chopins’ Warsaw flat, where every musical gesture is a kind of tribute to the genius composer, and where Mozart’s Requiem is resounded every year on the anniversary of his death, the concerts gain a special dimension. The ‘Chopin and his Europe’ Festival has a long tradition of artistic events of the highest rank, taking place in the Basilica.

This year’s edition will open and close with concerts here (Fabio Biondi’s violin recital on 20 August and Roel Dieltiens’ cello recital on 6 September). Five recitals by Poles qualified for this year’s Chopin Competition will also take place in this special church during the Festival. Two pianists will perform each evening:

21 August: Mateusz Dubiel and Andrzej Wierciński

25 August: Jan Widlarz and Krzysztof Wierciński

28 August: Yehuda Prokopowicz and Mateusz Krzyżowski

1 September: Adam Kałduński and Piotr Pawlak

4 September: Zuzanna Sejbuk and Michał Basista

All concerts begin at 9 p.m., admission is free. We invite you to a meeting with the youngest generation of Polish pianists; let’s listen to the artists before whom the world stands wide open!
