Results of the Audience Award poll of the 19th Chopin Competition

We are pleased to announce the results of the Audience Award poll for the 19th Chopin Piano Competition. You voted from among 11 finalists between October 18th and 20th.

The winner – with 19,961 votes – is Piotr Alexewicz, a 25-year-old from Wrocław, ranked fifth by the Competition jury. He developed his skills under the guidance of Paweł Zawadzki, Konstantin Scherbakov, and Nikolai Demidenko, among others. Second place went to Malaysian Vincent Ong (11,547 votes), and third place was taken by Chinese pianist Tianyao Lyu, who received 8,224 votes.

    Poster designed by Marcin Władyka will promote the Chopin Competition in Warsaw

    Dr Marcin Władyka won the competition for the poster promoting the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition in Warsaw. The poster competition was co-organised by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute and the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. 15 artists from Poland and abroad submitted 30 works.

    Behind the scenes notes. 14th day

    The good news at the start of the day Thursday was that Eric Lu, of the United States, was able to perform, following illness. His evening recital was the last one of Stage 3. Other participants that we heard earlier on Thursday came from Japan, China, Poland and Canada, and there was also another pianist from the U.S.A.
