Birthday concerts 2026

We are celebrating the 216th anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin’s birth with particular solemnity: three concerts are planned, featuring the winner of the last Chopin Competition – Eric Lu, Jan Lisiecki, and Mateusz Dubiel.

99 years of the Chopin Competition

The most talented pianists from around the world, the near-sporting excitement accompanying the auditions, witnessing the beginnings of international careers, and then counting down to the next edition – this is the Chopin Competition, with its first edition starting exactly 99 years ago!

On January 12th, The Financial Times published an extensive review of two new albums by Eric Lu, winner of last year’s Chopin Competition.
