Eric Lu splits the European and Asian legs of his international tour with two weekend recitals – on November 15 and 16 – in the United States: in Cupertino, California, for the Steinway Society, and in Portland, Oregon, for Portland Piano International.
Starting Friday, November 21, the artist will give four concerts in South Korea: on November 21, he will perform at the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul with the KBS Symphony Orchestra under the baton of Leonard Slatkin (in addition to Lu’s performance of Chopin’s Piano Concerto in F minor, the concert will also include the Korean premiere of Cindy McTee’s ‘Circuits’ and Dmitri Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 11); on November 22nd, the winner of the Chopin Competition will perform at the Ulsan Cultural and Art Centre, the following day at the Tongyeong Concert Hall, and on Wednesday, November 26th, he will return to Seoul, where he will give a recital at the Arts Centre. As The Korea Herald, which announced the pianist’s performances, points out, the special award for Eric Lu was sponsored by the Korean media company Mast Media.
