After a nearly four-month, triumphant tour of Europe, Asia, and America, Eric Lu will return to Warsaw on March 1st to perform at the annual Fryderyk Chopin Birthday Concert. The highly anticipated event will take place at the Warsaw Philharmonic, and Lu, accompanied by the AUKSO Orchestra conducted by Marek Moś, will perform Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3 in C minor, topping the program up with a mini-recital of Chopin pieces (we will listen to the Nocturne, Op. 27, No. 1, the Polonaise, Op. 71, No. 2, and the Sonata in B minor, Op. 58 – all compositions he played during the Chopin Competition, and his performance of the Sonata in B minor – and the Sonata in B flat minor, Op. 35 – was called the ‘interpretatively high points’ of the Competition by John Allison, a critic and juror at the Warsaw tournament).
At noon that day, Mateusz Dubiel – winner of the National Chopin Competition and a highly regarded participant in the ‘Grand’ International Competition in October 2025 – will perform at the Fryderyk Chopin Birthplace in Żelazowa Wola.
Both concerts – in Żelazowa Wola and Warsaw – will be broadcast on Polish Radio Channel 2, and Dubiel’s recital – also on the Fryderyk Chopin Institute's YouTube channel.
