Laureates of the 19th Chopin Competition Tour: Shanghai, Singapore, Taipei, Hong Kong, Katowice, and Warsaw

26/11/2025

Eric Lu, who recently performed in South Korea, begins his China tour on Friday, November 28th. He will give the first recital in Shanghai – at the impressive, modern home of the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, the country’s oldest orchestral ensemble, whose origins date back to the 1890s. One day later, on November 29th, the winner of this year’s Competition will be joined by second and third place laureates Kevin Chen and Zitong Wang to perform in the same hall.

In the first week of December Lu will perform concerts at the Victoria Concert Hall – one of Singapore’s most iconic venues; the building complex, built in 1862, underwent a thorough renovation less than a decade ago – and at the University of Hong Kong. Performances by other laureates of the 19th Competition will take place simultaneously: on November 30th, admirers of Tianyao Lyu’s talent will be able to listen to her in Katowice, at the residence of the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, while on December 3rd, Vincent Ong will perform at the National Concert Hall in Taipei. A week later, Kevin Chen will present himself at the same venue, and Piotr Alexewicz will perform a recital of works by Chopin, Respighi, and Schumann at a special concert connected with his receiving the 19th Competition Audience Award.
