Summer Stage in Żelazowa Wola 2026

Classical music and jazz have been intertwined for decades, stimulating and complementing one another. Fryderyk Chopin’s compositions continue to prove an excellent source of inspiration for jazz musicians – and are drawn upon by both established artists and those of the youngest generation; by those who work within the traditional language of jazz, and by those who experiment at the intersection of many other musical styles and genres.

Last year, we launched the Chopin jazz scene with concerts in the park surrounding Fryderyk Chopin’s Birthplace in Żelazowa Wola – performers included Leszek Możdżer and Adam Makowicz, Kuba Więcek and Artur Dutkiewicz. In the coming weeks, the series of jazz events returns, reaching out to an ever-wider range of generations and musical styles.

The Żelazowowolska summer season in 2026 will kick off with a weekend of young jazz: on 15 August, pianists Aga Derlak (who has released four albums of her own compositions to date and won the Fryderyk Award three times, in the categories of Jazz Debut of the Year, Artist of the Year and Album of the Year) and Kamil Piotrowicz (founder of the Laåude platform and co-creator of the cross-genre Idealistic festival, currently focusing on his own project, wræżlivøść); On 16 August, meanwhile, the second piano duo will be formed by Piotr Andrzejewski (whose achievements include victories at prestigious jazz competitions in Switzerland and Poland) and Sebastian Zawadzki (who, as well as playing and composing jazz, also writes film music).

On 22 August, the programme will feature concerts by Dominik Wania (a jazz and classical pianist, renowned as an outstanding session musician with wide-ranging interests) and the RGG trio (the final concert line-up of Polish jazz legend Tomasz Stańko). 

The second weekend of the Summer Stage in Żelazowa Wola (22–23 August) will feature concerts by Dominik Wania (a jazz and classical pianist, renowned as an outstanding session musician with wide-ranging interests) and the RGG Trio (the final concert line-up of Polish jazz legend Tomasz Stańko) as well as Kasia Pietrzko (whose jazz interpretations of poems by Cyprian Kamil Norwid were presented during the Chopin and His Europe Festival in 2021) and Sławek Jaskułke (whose discography includes nearly twenty original albums, four recordings with Zbigniew Namysłowski, and numerous albums created in collaboration with other artists).

On the last two days of August (29th and 30th), the Sinfonia Varsovia orchestra conducted by Marta Gardolińska, featuring Krzysztof Jabłoński will perform in the park in Żelazowa Wola – on Saturday – and the following day, the Atom String Quartet (who describe themselves, quite rightly, ‘one of the most intriguing string quartets in the world’, moving freely between many musical genres – from classical and contemporary works, through jazz, to folk-inspired pieces). The finale of this year’s series of events at the Fryderyk Chopin Birthplace will be the Regional Culture Festival – on 5 and 6 September.
