Upcoming concerts of the winners and finalists of the 19th Chopin Competition

08/11/2025

Together with the winner, laureates, finalists, and many other participants of the 19th Chopin Competition are taking Chopin’s music to the world – since the results were announced, symphonic concerts and recitals have been held daily in various locations around the world and in Poland.

In the coming days, Eric Lu will conclude the European stage of his tournée organized by the Fryderyk Chopin Institute in cooperation with the Liu Kotow agency (soon the route will lead him through the Middle East). Today, he will bid farewell to Italy with a recital at the Aula Magna Rettorato LaSapienza in Rome, and on November 11th, he will perform at the Gallus Hall in Ljubljana’s Cankarjev Dom – Slovenia’s largest congress and cultural centre (named after the father of modernism in Slovenia, the novelist, playwrighter, essayist, and politically engaged poet Ivan Cankar). Lu’s final stop in Europe will be Munich on November 16th, where he will perform at the famous Prinzregentheater (this historic concert hall and opera house was inaugurated in 1901 by the premiere of Richard Wagner’s ‘Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg’!).

Simultaneously, Chopin will resound in philharmonic and concert halls across Poland. Tomorrow (November 9th), 2nd Prize winner Kevin Chen will perform at the headquarters of the National Polish Radio Orchestra, while in Poznań, Tianyao Lyu will give a recital at the Aula Nova of the Academy of Music. On November 12th, Shiori Kuwahara will arrive in the capital of Greater Poland to join Lyu in a concert at the Aula of Adam Mickiewicz University to conclude the Paderewski Festival. Just two days earlier, on November 10th, Łomża will welcome Yehuda Prokopowicz, highly acclaimed by the audience and awarded the prestigious Polish Radio Award for best performance of mazurkas by the jury. On November 13th, both Wrocław residents will be celebrating Chopin music – at a recital by Lyu and Kuwahara at the National Forum of Music – and Kraków residents – David Khrikuli will perform at the Kraków Philharmonic. Two cities will also enjoy Chopin interpretations by young masters on November 14th: Third Prize winner Zitong Wang will perform with the orchestra at the Baltic Philharmonic, inaugurating the anniversary 20th Gdańsk Piano Autumn. Meanwhile, Kevin Chen will perform with the Szczecin Philharmonic Orchestra. Shiori Kuwahara from Poznań will travel to Gdańsk (November 15th, Baltic Philharmonic) and then to Katowice (November 16th, NOSPR).
