Results of the Audience Award poll of the 19th Chopin Competition

We are pleased to announce the results of the Audience Award poll for the 19th Chopin Piano Competition. You voted from among 11 finalists between October 18th and 20th.

The winner – with 19,961 votes – is Piotr Alexewicz, a 25-year-old from Wrocław, ranked fifth by the Competition jury. He developed his skills under the guidance of Paweł Zawadzki, Konstantin Scherbakov, and Nikolai Demidenko, among others. Second place went to Malaysian Vincent Ong (11,547 votes), and third place was taken by Chinese pianist Tianyao Lyu, who received 8,224 votes.

    Laureates of international competitions in the 19th Chopin Competition

    Of the 84 pianists who will be performing recitals in the first stage of the Chopin Competition starting on Friday, October 3, 66 were already introduced to the audience during the preliminary rounds (held in Warsaw in late April and early May). The remaining nineteen are coming to compete in the Chopin Competition thanks to prizes won in other piano competitions.

    The jury of the 19th International Frydeyk Chopin Piano Competition, chaired by Garrick Ohlsson, admitted the following 20 pianists to the third stage.
