Sale of tickets for the Preliminaries for the 19th Chopin Competition

The Preliminaries for the 19th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition will be held on 23.04-4.05.2025 in two sessions: a morning session from 10 a.m. and an afternoon session from 5 p.m. The event will take place in the Chamber Hall of the Warsaw Philharmonic.

Ticket sales for the Preliminaries started on 15.01.2025 at 12.00 CET noon.

Tickets can be purchased at:

  • online at tickets.nifc.pl,
  • at the ticket offices of the Fryderyk Chopin Museum, 43 Tamka St., Warsaw.

Ticket prices:
Zone I: 60 PLN,- normal, 42 PLN,- reduced.
Zone II: 40 PLN,- normal PLN, 28,- discounted

  • Discounted tickets (-30%) are available to pupils, students (up to 26 years of age), pensioners from the EU who have a valid document entitling them to a discount.
  • During the Preliminaries, children 8 years of age and older are allowed in the chamber hall. Those disturbing the silence will be asked to leave the hall.
  • Paid tickets to the Preliminaries for wheelchair users will be available by prior contact via email: bilety.konkurs@nifc.pl.
  • Tickets for the Preliminaries can be returned no later than 13.04.2025. Regulations for ticket sales are available here.

    Betind the scenes notes. 16th day

    On Saturday, the Competition entered its crucial, but also most festive and elegant stage, as each of the 11 participants is to perform one of Chopin’s piano concertos, with the orchestra, preceded by a solo rendition of the Polonaise-Fantasy, Op. 61.

    Requiem for piano solo on the anniversary of Fryderyk Chopin’s death

    Chopin died on October 17, 1849, and was buried less than two weeks later, on October 30, at the Père-Lachaise Cemetery. The funeral mass was celebrated at the La Madeleine Church in Paris, and its musical setting consisted primarily of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem.
