19th Chopin Competition Winner on record from the Fryderyk Chopin Institute
The Fryderyk Chopin Institute traditionally prepares a series of CD releases featuring portraits of the most outstanding participants in the Chopin Competition.
Among these, this year’s winner, Eric Lu, deserves particular attention. All of his competition performances, distributed between two collaborating record labels – Deutsche Grammophon and the Fryderyk Chopin Institute – are now available for purchase. The single DG album preceded the double album from the Fryderyk Chopin Institute, released in the ‘Blue Series’; together, they constitute the complete set of winning interpretations from Anno Domini 2025.
The Fryderyk Chopin Institute’s ‘Blue Series,’ published for fifteen years now, consistently expanded with the latest competition recordings and supplemented with historical recordings, constitutes the richest phonographic source of Chopin Competitions. Also available in this series are Eric Lu’s recordings from the 2015 Competition, of which he was also a laureate.
